We have multiple options for USB transcription headsets. All of our USB options have a sound card built into the cord. The sound card built into the cord is specially designed to match the frequency response of the spoken word. It is very important to note that normal 3.5mm transcription headsets are designed to work with the internal sound card built into computer which is designed to match the frequency response of music.
We travel with a transcription headset audio testing station laptop with four headsets (three USB and one 3.5 stereo) as we work trade shows all over the country. The USB transcription headsets are absolutely incredible. The three most popular styles are below. It is very important to note that we have the exact same dictation audio file playing out of a laptop. Audio levels are exactly the same but the sound coming out of headsets are very different.
It is very important to note that if you have a good audio file just about any headset will sound good. Our USB headsets will help best with low or distorted sound quality.

I have been do transcription work all day long for the last 20 years. I have tried many headphones, but I have to say these are the best I have come across. I recommend them to everyone in my field. Even when I have a poor quality audio, transcription is a breeze when using these. They are very durable, but I make it a practice to always order at least two. The only time I've had to replace them is when my dog decides it's her favorite chew toy.

Love these headphones, excellent quality for transcriptioinists. This is my 2nd set, but first set lasted almost 5 years using everyday, 8 to 12 hours a day, on and off every day for breaks, (no one sits for that long without moving). Long cord for attaching anywhere on your computer. Sound quality is fantastic, better than any I have ever used.
I've used both the Wordslinger and Wordsmith headsets and love both of them. When I have problems with my ears from allergies, the Wordslingers are great. I do transcription work on the side and have been struggling for years with low quality audio on some of the jobs. I had been thinking about purchasing the Wordslinger headphones for over a year but didn't really want to spend the money when I was getting by okay with my $20 headphones from Walmart. I didn't think the quality would be much different - boy was I wrong! I have had these headphones for about two weeks and so far every audio has been a breeze to get through and the sound is so crisp and clear that I actually had to turn down my computer audio from 100 to 8 to keep from blowing out my eardrums. I highly recommend these to anyone who struggles with low quality speakers or bad audio whether you are just listening to audio files or actually trying to transcribe them. The only thing I wish was different was I was they had a built in microphone so I could use these headphones for everything I do online and not just the transcription work.
These headphones are hands down the best! The sound quality is excellent and the noise cancelling is great! They are also very comfortable. These are the only headphones I use for medical transcription. I absolutely love these headphones!
